BASICALLY BEETHOVEN FESTIVAL IN 35th SEASON
DALLAS – Fine Arts Chamber Players presents the 35th Annual Basically Beethoven Festival Sunday afternoons in July. These free concerts of classical chamber music are held at the Dallas City Performance Hall in the Dallas Arts District at 2520 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201 on July 5, 12, 19, and 26th. Doors open at 2:00PM for the 2:30PM pre-concert Rising Star Recital showcasing young music artists and competition winners. At 3:00PM, the chamber music performances begin, featuring professional musicians from the Dallas & Fort Worth Symphony Orchestras, The Dallas Opera Orchestra, and area university faculties members. All concerts are FREE TO THE PUBLIC. Paid parking is available in surface lots and garages in the Dallas Arts District. Families with children are welcome. 2:30 Rising Star Recital: Clarinetist Ridge Garner, Grand Prize Winner (Winds) in the 2015 Collin County Young Artist Competition performs music of Muczinski and Weiner with pianist Anastasia Markina.
3:00 Feature Performance: Texas Camerata—Baroque and Beyond
Seven musicians dedicated to performing the music of the Baroque and Classical eras with an emphasis on historical style. Music by Schmelzer, Marais, Telemann, Vivaldi, Mudge and Beethoven performed on authentic Baroque and Classical period instruments.

2:30 Rising Star Recital: Pianist Hannah Rosen, Grand Prize Winner (Piano) in the 2015 Collin County Young Artist Competition and winner of the 2013 Dallas Symphonic Festival Competition, presents music of Beethoven and Chopin.
3:00 Feature Performance: The Long Duo—Music for Two Pianos
Sisters Christina and Beatrice Long present music for two pianos by Beethoven, Ravel, Mendelssohn, Lutoslawski and Milhaud plus Schumann's rarely performed Andante and Variations for two pianos, two cellos and horn.

2:30 Rising Star Recital: Violinist Abigail Fuchs, Grand Prize winner in the 2014 Dallas Symphonic Festival Competition performs music by Piazzolla and Sarasate with pianist Deborah Austin.
3:00 Feature Performance: Yuri Anshelevich—It Sounds Better on the Cello
Celebrating his 35-year tenure with Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Yuri Anshelevich perfoms the music of Beethoven, Brahms and Schumann with Steven Harlos, pianist.

2:30 Rising Star Recital: Award-winning Madera Wind Quintet presents music for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn by Don Gillis, a Texas musical legend, plus Quodlibet by Arne Running.
3:00 Feature Performance: Family Favorites
Enjoy an afternoon of classical favorites presented by Alex and Rachel McDonald, Grace and Scott Wollett plus Joseph Kuipers. Selected movements by Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, Bloch and Brahms feature music for violin, viola, oboe, cello and piano.
The Basically Beethoven Festival is made possible in part by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, TACA, Texas Commission on the Arts, WFAA Channel 8, DART, Dallas Visitors and Convention Bureau, UTArlington, Dallas Arts District, Sammons Center for the Arts, and Sloan Bergmann Print Services. For over 35 years, FACP has presented free classical music programs for the enrichment of North Texas area residents. In addition to the free Basically Beethoven Festival, FACP presents the free, monthly Bancroft Family Concerts October through May at the Dallas Museum of Art. Each year, FACP’s educational outreach programs provide over 500 free educational classes and performances in area public schools. Since its inception in 1981, FACP has served over 215,000 children and performed for over a half-million residents of North Texas.
