Open Recording

Every Monday we give you the chance to feel the bright lights on the big stage. Anyone is welcome to perform. For just $10 we will record three of your songs (up to four inputs), and deliver them to you digitally.

Q: How do I get to play?
A: Persons wanting to perform may sign up as early as 6:00pm for their desired time slot. If all of the time slots are full, you may put your name on the "Standby" list. You must be present to sign up, we will not accept sign ups on the phone.

Q: What do I need to bring?
A: You are welcome to bring your intstrument, but if you don't have one, we have an acoustic guitar available.

Q: How long do I get to play?
A: Generally, two or three songs.

Q: What can you record?
A: Anything you want, as long as it requires four inputs or less, meaning a full band probably won't get a good result. Two direct inputs and two vocal mics would get a great result.

Q: If I have my performance recorded, how and when will I receive the recording?
A: Mixing and mastering of the recordings generally takes 24 hours, and they are delivered by email. If you give us permission to publish your performance, it will also be available to download via Soundcloud and or Bandcamp.

Q: If I play an open mic night, and I'm awesome, will I get a gig at The Live Oak?
A: Maybe, no promises.
