About The Clink by Steven Young

A partnership with the Dallas County Juvenile Department, this performance is a long lost and recently discovered Shakespearean comedy of ridiculous proportion concerning themes of love, piracy, prison, crumpets and trumpets. Quelled in iambic pentameter (mostly) and re-penned by Squire Steven Young, her Majesty’s ninth favorite poet and the distinguished third cousin, twice removed, of the 14th Earl of Oxford, The Clink will leaving you delighted and laughing.

TeCo’s T-An-T (Teenagers And Theatre) Apprenticeship program brings together a mix of high school students and teens from the Dallas County Juvenile Department to learn about all aspects of theatre from acting techniques to the technical side of the industry such as lighting design and costuming. This production will be the culmination of the teens’ hard work since they started the program in the beginning of July under the tutelage of Director Jonathan Luke.

There are two shows: Friday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. & Saturday, May 21 at 3:00 p.m.

The Clink is made possible with funding by the Harold Simmons Foundation.
