Welcome to Animal Health Care Center!

Located in Arlington, Animal Health Care Center was founded in 1980. Animal Health Care Center is a full-service vet hospital, including dog and cat grooming and pet boarding, committed to providing the highest standard of veterinary care for pets. We provide compassionate, friendly, informative, and supportive services for you and your pet, while maintaining a superior working environment for our employees.

Animal Health Care Center offers Arlington a veterinary hospital that handles emergency, medical, surgical, and dental veterinary care. With an in-house pharmacy and lab and access to specialists, our facility offers a one stop service for your pet's health and medical care. Our well trained staff not only treats dogs and cats but also treats a wide variety of other pets including birds, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, miniature pigs and occasionally other exotic pets.

Dr. Dittrich, Dr. Rachal and their staff believe that preventative health care is the key for a long healthy life for your pets. Standard of care protocols for immunizations, parasite prevention, dentistry, neutering, spaying, nutrition, routine blood work, and other diagnostic means are utilized to insure that the health of your pet is maximized. Recommendations based on the age and life style of each pet are tailored to your pet and your desires.

Although we believe that a standard protocol for immunizations is an important part of protecting your pet from life threatening diseases, we believe immunizations should be used judiciously for each pet. For those clients who like to minimize immunization vaccinations, we suggest blood titer checks (if available) to insure that the pet is adequately protected before we recommend not vaccinating.

In addition to traditional medicine and surgery, Dr. Dittrich also practices and uses acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal medicine, homeopathy, glandular therapy and nutritional supplementation. These are sometimes used alone or combined and blended with traditional medicine and surgery in an effort to achieve the best health outcome for your pet. We also work closely with several referral specialty practices at times when specialty skills are needed.
